War Child flagship Afghanistan program advances social impact in the lives of vulnerable children, women and their families through its Justice, Education and Opportunity programs with child protection and gender across all its programs. The Afghanistan Country Program is currently undergoing an exciting expansion with newly secured long-term funding for programs in eight provinces Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Balkh, Kundoz, Takhar, Logar and Badakhshan, and will expand its program to other new provinces.

  Position summary:

The Community Outreach Worker/ Community Mobilizer will work in the WFHS established in the community. The community mobilizer will provide awareness raising of Psychosocial Support (PSS) in the community. This role includes providing information on existing services and linking women or girls with WFHS activities and services. The detailed job description is mentioned below.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide information and awareness raising on WFHS services to women in the community on a need basis.
• Assist women and girls coming to WFHS that require psychosocial support.
• Conduct meetings with local stakeholders to increase the level of acceptance and strengthen relationships.
• Provide Psychological first aid and psychosocial support to women and link them to other services available at WFHS such as PSS case management and psychosocial support services.

• Co-facilitate group activities in close coordination with staff at WFHS.
• Coordinate with the PSS counselor and provide support in tasks related to WFHS.
• Provide supportive information to women and refer them to available services within WFHS.
• Perform any other project-related duty assigned by WFHS In charge
• Assist the Provincial Technical Officer and other management staff in tasks as required.
• Maintain data entry registers and other information per organization requirements on already developed tools.

• Work closely with other WFHS staff members to build a professional team.
• Perform any project-related tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree  in the relevant discipline  ( Social  Work, Social Sciences, Psychology)  and related backgrounds are preferable.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in community mobilization with NGOs/INGOs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working with women and girls and protection services in the field.

Skills:

• Good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Fluent in Dari/ Pashto, both written and spoken.
•  Skilled at working as a team member.
•  Posses group facilitation skills
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Computer, MS office skills
• Good reporting writing skills
• Culturally sensitive and keep confidentiality
